Application
Suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Grundfärg prevents tannin, nicotine and other wood components from penetrating through the paint. Suitable as a primer for Moose F and Moose RDM.
Grundfärg cannot be used as a single system outdoors. Grundfärg should always be painted over with, for example, Moose F or Moose RDM.
Do not use on metal surfaces (nails, screws) that can rust. Use stainless steel.
Surface. The surface must be dimensionally stable, dry, clean and load-bearing, and must not contain any solvents. Soap residues must be removed with plenty of water. Lightly sand the wood with grit 120-180 for optimum adhesion. For previously treated wood: coarsely sand and remove all non-adherent paint.
Recommended wood moisture content. Maximum 12% for hardwood and maximum 15% for softwood. The drier the surface, the better the penetration of Grundfärg. Degrease tropical wood thoroughly. Make a test piece.
Consumption. Approx. 7-10 m² per litre for 1 layer.
Application. Use a brush, roller or spray. Do not dilute. Apply 1 to 2 layers. Allow a drying time of 12 hours between the layers of Grundfärg.
After drying, lightly sand with grit 120-180. Then finish with Moose F or Moose RDM.
Drying time (at + 20 °C / 60% relative humidity, 100 µm layer thickness) dust-dry: approx. 1 hour, can be painted over: approx. 6 hours. Higher layer thicknesses and/or lower temperatures slow down the drying times. Ensure adequate ventilation.
Storage. In closed packaging, cool, dry and frost-free (> 5 °C).
Dispose of paint residues. Prevent discharge into the environment. When disposing of the product, observe national statutory regulations. Wet paint residues may be taken to an environmental station.
